The idea#
Hourglass theology, stripped bare. Time drops grain by grain; the bottom waits; nothing escapes. Past dead, future blind—“only the neck, only the grind.” Then a strange resurrection: we rise as dust, floating the breach, orbiting stillness, burning a hole through the glass’s logic.
Uplifting trance usually promises escape; this lyric promises presence without fall. “Hover in the neck. Now is forever.” Flesh forgets, glass forgives, but dust remains—and lives. I hear an ontology of the present tense, almost defiant: not sand as death-measure, not soul as abstraction, but residual matter that refuses the drop.
Perhaps “above neck” is the thin strait where all remaining life concentrates—the choke-point that becomes a throne.
